Skioo is a free solution that gives skiers direct access to the ski slopes at a large selection of resorts in Switzerland and Norway. With Skioo, you don’t have to wait in line at the lift ticket office to buy your ski ticket; you also don’t need to buy your lift ticket in advance.

When creating your Skioo account, add your keycard and choose between two payment methods:

  • With the Automatic Payment method, you’ll be automatically debited as you ski. You don’t need to worry about monitoring your account balance.
  • With the Prepay method, you regularly reload your keycard with the amount of your choice. You can check your remaining balance at any time.

No matter which payment method you select, Skioo ensures that you’re always charged in accordance with each partner resorts’ best corresponding rate.

Skioo itself is a free solution; there are no additional fees or hidden costs behind it.

If you sign up with Skioo and ski at one of our partner resorts for a specific time period, you’ll always be charged in accordance with the resort’s best corresponding rate.

Once you’ve created your free Skioo account, you’ll need to start by adding all your family members and registering a keycard for every user. 

If you don’t have a keycard, you can order your new personalized Skioo keycard for the small fee of 5 CHF. Your new keycard will be sent straight to your registered address within two to three working days. Alternatively, you can buy a keycard at the lift ticket office and add it to your Skioo account.

You can then choose between two types of payment methods: the ‘Automatic Payment’ method or the ‘Prepay’ method.

With the Automatic Payment method, you’ll be automatically debited as you ski. You don’t need to worry about monitoring your account balance.

With the Prepay method, you regularly reload your keycard with the amount of your choice. You can check your remaining balance at any time.

Once you’ve finalized your registration, you can always check your balance and transactions on the go and easily manage the keycards in your account.

We advise you not to use Skioo for activities other than skiing or snowboarding at our partner resorts. The simple one way tickets are not available in our catalogue. 

Yes you can. Once you’ve created an account for yourself, you can add one or more family members as additional users in your account. You’ll then have full immediate control over the transactions, keycards, and account settings of all your registered family members.

Keycard (Skicard)

Yes you do. To be able to access a ski resort, you’ll need to register at least one keycard in your Skioo account. Note that you can only register one keycard only per provider (Skidata or Axess).

To register a keycard, select the user of your choice. Then, select the ‘Manage user’ button, and finally the ‘Add your keycard’ button.

If you don’t have a keycard, you can order your new personalized keycard for 5 CHF. Once you’ve ordered your new keycard, it will be sent straight to your registered address within two to three working days. Alternatively, you can buy a keycard at the ski ticket office and add it to your Skioo account.

Once you’ve registered a keycard in your account, simply carry it in your jacket and head straight to the slopes!

No; one Skioo keycard can not be used by multiple Skioo users. In order to successfully go through the lift gates at the resort, every Skioo user needs to have his/her own keycard.

To add a keycard for a specific user, start by selecting the user of your choice. Then select the ‘Manage user’ button, and then the ‘Add your keycard’ button.

If you weren’t able to go through the resort’s lift gate with your keycard, first verify whether the credit card in your Skioo account is still valid. If you’re using Prepay, make sure that your balance includes the right amount for a ski day in the ski resort of your choice. 

Then, make sure that the keycard registered in your Skioo account is valid at the resort of your choice. Note that Ski resorts in Europe use either one of the two following lift gate access control systems: Skidata or Axess. Skidata keycards are generally incompatible with resorts that operate on the Axess system. Similarly, Axess keycards are generally incompatible with resorts that operate on the Skidata system. Keycard accessibility issues might therefore arise when a Skidata keycard card is used at Axess-enabled resort, and vice-versa.

To verify whether your keycard is a Axess or a Skidata one, inspect the format of your keycard’s serial number (usually found at the back of the keycard):

  • The serial number of Axess keycards (also called Smart Cards) generally follows the following format:

WTP : XXXXXXXX-XXX-XXX

  • The serial number of Skidata keycards generally follows the following format:

DTA : XX-XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX-X

Finally, make sure to check out our Partner resorts page, which specifies each resort’s respective access control system (Skidata or Axess).

If you lost your keycard, you have the ability to immediately block it directly in your Skioo account.

To block your keycard, select the user of your choice, then select the ‘plus’ button at the bottom right-hand-side of the keycard section. Finally, select the ‘Block’ button.

Payment methods

To activate your Skioo account, you’ll need to choose between two payment methods:

  • With the Automatic Payment method, your account will automatically debited as you ski. You won’t need to monitor whether you have any remaining balance in your account.
  • With the Prepay method, you regularly reload your account with the amount of your choice. With this method, you’ll need to make sure to keep regular track of your remaining balance in your Skioo account (you can do so at any time). You’ll also need to ensure that your balance always includes the right amount for a ski day in the resort of your choice.

Keep in mind that with both methods, you’ll be charged in accordance with the resort’s best corresponding rate.

Yes, you have the flexibility to switch from one payment method to the other at any time. In your account menu, select the ‘Payment’ button. Once in the ‘Payment’ section, select the ‘Manage payment’ button.

If you select the ‘Prepay’ payment method, your account credit will last for 24 months (730 days). If your keycard is not used during a period of 18 months (530 days), Skioo will get in touch with you to notify you of the matter.

After 24 months (730 days), if your keycard has still not been used, both your Skioo account and the keycard in the account will be deactivated. The remaining credit on your account will expire and you will not benefit from a reimbursement.

When you use the ‘Prepay’ payment method, your account balance will be automatically transferred to the next season. Keep in mind, however, that you credit only lasts for 24 months (730 days).

After 24 months (730 days), if your keycard has still not been used, both your Skioo account and the keycard in the account will be deactivated. The remaining credit on your account will expire and you will not benefit from a reimbursement.

Billing

Skioo itself is a free solution; there are no additional fees or hidden costs behind it.

Once you’ve skied at one of Skioo’s partner resorts, Skioo will charge you in accordance with the resort’s best corresponding rate. For instance, if you’ve skied for several days in a row at a specific resort, you’ll be charged according to the best corresponding multi-day ticket offered by the resort of your choice.

No, Skioo won’t charge you on an hourly basis.

From a technical standpoint, there’s nothing hindering Skioo from charging you on an hourly rate. For the time being, however, we need to fully align our billing system with the pricing model of each of our partner resorts. Since our current partner resorts do not offer hourly rates yet, we’re unable to charge you on an hourly basis.

Having said that, rest assured that Skioo will always charge you in accordance with your resort’s best corresponding rate.

If you have been charged the wrong amount or have found a mistake in your receipt, please get in touch with one of our friendly Customer Service Representatives. Our team will assist you further and rectify any error.

Your account balance is always shown in real-time, even if the bank transaction has not yet effectively gone through. As such, there might be a slight difference between the amount showcased in your account balance and the one listed in a user’s transaction sheet. This difference is generally automatically rectified as soon as the bank transaction has gone through.

Skioo can only work at resorts that are members of our partner network. Note, however, that we’re currently in discussion with many resorts across Switzerland and Norway regarding future partnerships.

Promotions & special discounts

There exists a Skioo loyalty program. Our customer service provides you with more information and adds you to our program. Please get in touch with us. 

You can add a promo code in the ‘Promotions’ section of your Skioo account. The promo code will then be applied to all users who had already been registered in your account before the promo code was entered.

You can now order Skioo gift cards on our website, click here to get access to the gift card landing page. The Skioo gift cards are sold and delivered exclusively by Skioo in a special gift package.
